Blokkie Origins
Founded in the heart of Kowloon, Hong Kong, this brand seeks to combine form with function; while introducing, or reintroducing, traditional organic recipes to a modern city.
The name “Blokkie” is taken from the founder’s mother tongue, Afrikaans – which means “small block”. It is a triple-entendre giving reference to the butcher’s block, the uncarved block from taoist philosophy and the blocks within the Bitcoin protocol. It represents the founder’s philosophies on healthy body, mind and money. The block represents that which is untouched by humanity; which is a fundamental principle of the company: minimal interference, natural organic ingredients instead of beauty products filled with harmful petrochemicals and hormone disrupting ingredients like phthalates.
These products seek to help with the skin and health issues observed in Hong Kong such as eczema, rosacea, acne and many others. The skincare and hygiene products are all based on organic beef tallow, as it contains all of the essential minerals and nutrients necessary to create collagen, as well as forming a natural barrier that is most like human’s natural sebum. This helps with all skin types, and is based on traditional recipes.

What We Do?
We make organic face creams soaps, sunscreens and body scrubs, using grass fed organic beef and other natural ingredients.
We source and supply high quality T-shirts and unique clothing items.
We also make a tasty traditional South African high protein snack: Biltong.

Beef tallow is the rendered fat of the cow. Meaning it has been melted and purified.
Blokkie uses organic grass fed beef, which happens to be Kosher as well.
The grass fed nature of the tallow ensures that it contains all of the essential minerals and nutrients such as: vitamins A, D, E, and K; as well as essential fatty acids.
These promote your skin’s natural collagen production, and seep deep into your skin.
Tallow is great for cooking as well, as it does not contain polyunsaturated fats (PFAs), and has a very high smoking point, meaning it is very unlikely to burn while you are cooking. Ensuring both flavour, and that carcinogens don’t enter into your food. It is similar to lard or ghee.
